Sharks for Arma3

Since man first enterered the ocean, he has feared the shark. Stories, films and games have fed this fear giving the shark a monster-like reputation as a man-eating killer. This reputation is mainly based on fear and misunderstanding. According to the Australian Institute of Marine Science, 10 deaths per year are caused by sharks worldwide. But according to a report in Marine Policy, an estimated 100 million sharks are killed indirectly and directly by humans every year.

This addon puts two sharks into Arma 3, a male (Sam) and a female (Diane). I’ve created the AI to be as realistic as possible. They explore. They hunt. But they will only hunt a human in the complete absence of four other types of commonly found fish. This gives you the opportunity to swim with them, study them and try to understand them in relative safety. Will they attack you? Only if you are the only large animal within 50 meters after the Salema, Tuna, Mullet and Mackerel fish. So most of the time, you can enjoy your time with them. But if you are unlucky, they might just hunt you.

Features:

  • Male and female sharks with pilot fish companions on each
  • Shark selective hunting behavior (fish and humans)
  • Sharks can change depth when hunting
  • Underwater bleeding and blood effects
  • Shark sinks to the sea floor when killed
  • Safety script to move shark if it gets stuck in shallow water or stuck in the ground
  • Custom sounds

Gomez’s Harriers added to VTOL Mod

Have you ever wanted to be able to control Flaps and VTOL angle separately without having to touch the Auto Vectoring button? Well now you can! This mod adds separate keystrokes to your in-game controls menu for Flaps Up, Flaps Down, VTOL Up and VTOL Down. The keyboard commands can then be mapped to a joystick or throttle (HOTAS) if you want. Turning “Auto Vectoring” on and off is no longer required!

Changelog:
Version 1.2: Added support for Gomez’s Harriers

Head Range Plus Supports JETS DLC!

This mod will increase the range of head motion that is possible in first person view while in airplanes, helicopters, VTOLs, boats, ships, subs, tanks and cars when using TrackIR. This includes adding the ability to move your view left/right, up/down and front/back when inside a vehicle (usually more movement is possible than Vanilla). This mod also changes the aiplane pilot FOV from 0.75 to 1. It now supports Jets DLC!

VTOL / Flaps Controls Mod

Have you ever wanted separate controls for both Flaps and VTOL angle without having to touch the Auto Vectoring button? Well now you do! This addon adds separate keystrokes to your in-game controls menu for Flaps Up, Flaps Down, VTOL Up and VTOL Down. The keyboard commands can then be mapped to a joystick or throttle (HOTAS) if you want. Turning “Auto Vectoring” on and off is no longer required!

Instructions:
  1. Open your Controls Menu
  2. Click on Configure Addons
  3. Select “VTOL/FLAPS Controls Mod”
  4. Assign the keys
    • OPTIONAL: You can then unmap the Vanilla FLAPS UP and FLAPS DOWN controls
    • Keep “Auto Vectoring” mapped if you plan to use the F35 from C.U.P. so you can close the flight surfaces
  5. When you want to lower or raise flaps, hit those keys. When you want to raise or lower the VTOL angle, hit those keys.
    • You no longer have to hit Auto Vectoring On/Off. This changes automatically.
    • Regular (non-VTOL) planes function normally
    • For VTOL angle to function, aircraft engine must be ON
Features:
  • Works on all vanilla planes and VTOL aircraft and CUP VTOL aircraft
  • VTOL and FLAPS controls separated into 4 separate keypresses so you can map to separate controls on your HOTAS
  • Very small addon (0.1 MB)
  • customizable controls via Configure Addons menu (CBA)
Future Plans:
  • Once BI implements a command to measure VTOL angle percentage, I can probably eliminate the need for the Auto Vectoring button when using the F35.
  • Once BI implements some way of checking if an aircraft is a VTOL aircraft such as “isVTOL”, then I can make this work with all mods automatically.
  • NOTE TO MOD MAKERS: If you have a VTOL aircraft that you’d like me to include in this mod, PM me the classname(s) of those VTOL aircraft.
