Corvette C8.R Skin for ac

The Corvette C8.R numbers 03 and 04 from the 2020 Daytona 24h race. These skins aren’t perfect due to the strange mapping of the body in some places. Really the only issues are the IMSA logo on the nose can’t be added because of the mapping, there’s an extra arrow on the front vent pointing to the tow ring on the passenger side, and nothing on the drivers side due to reflected mapping, and I can’t add “Racing” to the rear (again, due to the mapping).

Details of note:
-Ambient Occlusion layer for both cars
-Custom tire markings for each car
-Wheel labels
-Updated and correct black pin stripes on the 03 car
-Updated and corrected side stripes on both cars
-Black hood vents
-Emergency labels at base of hood
-24h Daytona badging on doors and windshield
-Resized flags and number plates on hood
-Reworked trunk stripes on rear of 03 car
-Custom pit liveries for each car
-Corvette Racing goggles for the crew
-Much more!

Future plans:
-Custom suits, gloves and helmets for the drivers.

These skins took about a week for me to make, including tons of research, and lots of long late hours in Photoshop and Content Manager. If you can donate a buck or two, I would appreciate it. Donate link is at the bottom of the page or here: https://paypal.me/JonHillenbrand

Automotive Art

As some of you may know, I am a full time photographer and videographer. So lighting is my life. Lately I’ve been creating renders of some of my favorite cars in the racing sim Assetto Corsa using Content Manager‘s Custom Showroom. If you haven’t used it, it’s a very cool mini-program for looking at cars. You can set up four different kinds of lights including point, spot, directional and plane lights. These are equivalent to a china lantern, a fresnel, sunlight and a panel light or soft box. There are also scenery lights that come with various “showrooms” that you can download which light up or remove the brightness of the background. You can also play around with reflections and shadows and all sorts of other characteristics of the final image.

If you are a fan of photography, especially studio photography, I highly recommend you try out this awesome program.

I’ve created a gallery of images on Flickr here:

Here’s a preview of some of my favorites (including some images I haven’t posed yet):

Let me know what you think. Are you a fan of photography? What do you like to take photos of? What about sim racing? Any sim racers out there?
